Of the Wing

CHECK OUT OUR WIKISPACE FOR THE BOOK "OF THE WING"

An email from Carter:
I really like the book Of the Wing. My favorite part is when she saw the hawk. It was ginormous. It reminds me of my old house when I used to hear owls every night. Of the Wing by:Georgia Anne Butler.

Series of Unfortunate Events

literature project

An email from Ava:

Dear Mrs. A,
I am reading The Series of Unfortunate Events The Wide Window. The author is Lemony Snicket. I don't like how Lemony Snicket says put this book down!! I like this book because it is pretty much a mystery. I LOVE mysteries. The best part of the book so far is they get to go and live with someone who is really not related. Her name is Aunt Josephine. She seems kinda mean. I love this book and I want to read more.
Ava

Ava's Email
Here is about A Series of Unfortunate Events The Wide Window. The author is Lemony Snicket. The characters are Violet, Sunny and Klaus Baudelaire, Mr. Poe, and Aunt Josephine. Some characters that are barely named are The Baudelaire mother and father and Aunt Josephine. The setting is Aunt Josephine's house. Aunt Josephine's house is half way off a huge cliff. There is eight legs that are down the cliff so the legs make the house like a spider! Some of the stuff I have in common with the book is I have five people in my family, I have two sisters, a mom and a dad. Also my aunt's are kinda of safety conscious like Aunt Josephine. Here is what happened so far in the book, Mr. Poe knew they were hungry so he gave them peppermints but he didn't know they were allergic to them. They were ok. Then they met Aunt Josephine, she seemed very nice but then when Mr. Poe left she became all like don't touch like it will break into one-millon pieces!!! Crazy! That is where I am. Actually I am a little farther but I have to go bye!!!!

A Lion to Guard Us

Lion to Guard Us

Lion to Guard Us

Ava's Email

Dear Mrs. Abernethy,

I am reading A Lion to Guard Us. I Love this book because at the end they find their father. I also like to think that my sister Hannah is Amanda, I am Meg, and my little sister Emma is Jemmy. I loved Dr. Crider! I don't think that he should go OVERBOARD! What I don't like about this book is that the mother dies at the beginning. I wouldn't want my mom, Hannah, Emma and Me to be like them because they're in England, their mom is very sick (she died), having to work my butt off all the time and have to live with Mistress Trippet. That would be hard. I think Dr. Crider is such a nice man. He did alot for the kids. I would be just like them to find my father. I would want to sleep with the doorknocker becuase I would want a memory of my father even though I never met him. The Author is Clyde Robert Bulla. At first I wanted to read this book because it was very short looking but I love the meaning that it was in the 1600s. I like these kind of books and I want to keep these kind of books but maybe a little bit heavier.

PROJECT OF THE WEEK

My Side of the Mountains

Carter's Email
Dear Mrs. A
I like the My Side of the Mountain book. My favorite part of it is when the raccoons go in Sam's tree. I thought that was funny! Once my Dog Suzy saw a possum in the middle of the night. So my Dad woke me up and we went outside and my dog was barking and a possum was sitting in front of her. My Side of the Mountain By Jean Craighead George.
Sincerely,
Carter

Shiloh

Sierra's Email
Shiloh
Dear Mrs. A,
I really connect to this book because we found this dog. Her name was Roxy and we had to give it back just like Marty. We found the dog in a different way than Marty. We found her when we came home. She jumped into my mom’s lap when she opened the door unlike Marty who found Shiloh while he was on a walk in the woods.
Sincerely,
Sierra P.S. Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.

Dear Mrs.Abernethy,
I AM READING SHILOH. THE AUTHOR IS PHYLLIS REYNOLDS NAYLOR. I CONNECT WITH THIS BOOK BECAUSE I HAD A DOG LIKE SHILOH AND HE RAN AWAY FROM HIS OWNER AND A DOG TORE HIM UP.
From,
Michael
